Summer Staff
Our staff for the summer season consists of:
Kevin Kissinger—Maintenance Manager
Brent Seese—part time
Brady Kissinger—part time
Peter Alferi—part time
Congratulations to Kevin Kissinger on his recent commendation for service as a police officer to the city of East Jordan. He received an award for Courage and Commitment with Excellence in Service.
Electrical Boxes Some of you have noticed that electrical boxes are looking shabby. The City of Harbor Springs, provider of our electric service, will send workers to recondition and paint all of Lakeside’s electrical boxes. Work will be done throughout the summer.
Friends and Family If you give permission for family and/or friends to stay in your unit, without your presence, please provide your guests with copies of the LSC General Rules. Both can be found on the LSC website.
Reminders
- Dogs must be leashed at all times.
- Common Elements of the Association may be used by Owners and their guests. This includes lawns, paths, gazebo, beaches, waterfront, mooring areas, etc.
- General Rules– 3.9 states: “Any gathering or event that effectively monopolizes a Lakeside amenity or otherwise prevents the fair use of that amenity by other Co-Owners is prohibited without the express prior written approval by the Board of Directors.” Please email Shelly Germain (Board President) with requests before planning get-togethers of more than 6 people.
- It is the owners responsibility to maintain decks. Stain is provided by the association if you do the work yourself or if you contract to have the work done. If you need assistance, please contact Kevin by submitting a work request through the LSC website. The approved product is a transparent cedar colored stain.
Pool and Hot Tub
Spring cleaning and maintenance was completed at the pool house.
- Deep cleaning
- Regrouting of tile in pool
- LED lights were replaced in the hot tub last fall and in the pool this spring.
- Pool drained and bottom repainted
- Windows were washed inside and out
- Floor was resealed
Pool House Main Door
- Door Code: C4675
- The main door to the pool house is in disrepair and needs to be replaced. We consulted with Skip’s Glass, EPS Security, and Sure Lock & Homes while selecting a door with an improved security system.
SPRING UPDATE
- Portable Pickleball nets are up and ready for play. Rackets and balls are kept in a storage bench that provides protection from rain and gives players and spectators a place to sit.
- Pond aerators have been turned on and Aquashade added to control aquatic plant life.
- Geese deterrent has been applied and will continue throughout the season.
- Spring clean-up has been completed by Evergreen.
- Sprinklers have been initiated for the season and the system extended to irrigate newly installed shrubs.
- Seeding of plow damage is being addressed.
- Tree removal will be completed by both our staff and tree removal services.
New Rental Procedures
The Rental Surveys that were completed by Co-owners last fall guided the Board to make improvements to the Lakeside Club Rental Procedures, that can be accessed on the LSC website.
Twelve Co-owners submitted Intent to Rent forms with annual $300 Rental Fees (prorated this year–$225). Upon acceptance of the Intent to Rent form, a URL is emailed to a Co-owner that provides a link to the new LSC Rental Agreement. Submission by prospective renters is done online with completed forms emailed directly to the renter, the Co-owner (or designee), and Lakeside Club. The emailed rental agreement includes parking passes (not more than two) that renters print and bring with them to display on vehicle dashboards.
So far, the system is functioning well as noted by both Co-owners who rent out their units and their renters.
Kudos to Owner Denise Baird
A recent wind storm caused a canoe/kayak to break free from its mooring. Denise helped a neighbor by notifying us before the watercraft escaped across the lake. Thank you for keeping an eye on the waterfront.
John Lehman shares information from the LSC website and info about Local Events and Activities in May.
Web page of the month: petoskeylsc.com (password) LSC76Owners
Web page of the month: Repair Request Form (MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS Menu)
This page allows you to send a request for repairs or other work on your unit to Property Manager Kevin Kissinger. But the Association is only responsible for general common elements such as hallways, roofs, and chimneys, not elements such as sliding doors, skylights, or air conditioners, so be sure to check the Maintenance and Repair Responsibilities web page before you submit a work request.
