HOLIDAY FUND
One of the best ways to thank our staff and show our appreciation for their hard work throughout the year is for you, as an Owner, to voluntarily contribute to the Employee Holiday Fund. It is through the efforts of our staff that many of the little problems and all of the larger problems are solved. The Board is asking each Owner to voluntarily contribute at least $25 or more to the Holiday Fund (Coupon is at the end of thisNewsletter).
The funds will be shared with our employees based on seniority, responsibilities and amount of time worked during the year. Your contribution (check) should be made payable to Lakeside Club and marked “Employee Holiday Fund”. Your Holiday Fund check along with the contribution coupon may be placed in the enclosed envelope (along with your dues if you don’t have auto deduction). The employee will be given a Holiday card containing the name and unit number of each contributor. Our goal is 100% participation. Thank you so much for your anticipated contribution. Your show of appreciation for our staff will go a long way.

Project/Grounds Update: December 2024
- Replacement of the roof on O (units 65-70) is completed. Building M (units 55-58) will depend on the weather.
- Replacement of the Lakeside Club sign on the north drive will be done in the spring.
- Header & deck post replacement to Building G (units 33-38) is coming to a close.
- Landscaping at 1-12 will start in the spring 2025.
- Tree trimming is in process to remove limbs from the roof lines and encroachment towards the buildings. We have a tree service coming in to complete some of the work in December and more in the spring 2025. A large tree come down in the pond behind Building E and F, units 23-32 and 51-54. This is scheduled to be removed in the spring.
- Fall clean up of the grounds was completed.
- Water leak update: A leak was found at the entry point of the water main into Building D. The leak required excavation from both inside and outside the building to drain the water. The leak was fixed, and our water usage has decreased substantially. Repairs to the ground at the site will likely be repaired in the spring.
- The hot tub pump failed and was rebuilt and installed.
- Our water softener required repair during November, parts ordered and installed.
- Beach furniture has been stored for the winter.
- We had a street light failure on the South side of the Association. We had the repair completed.
- Snowplow stakes have been installed.
- Heat checks have started as we expect some low temperatures.
It is time to get ready for cold and snow. Brrr . . .
Winter Heat Checks
Winter heat checks have begun, ensuring that windows are closed, heat is turned on, and thermostats are set to a minimum of 55 degrees. If you do not want your unit checked during the winter months, please submit a work order through the LSC website. Units will be checked periodically, especially when temperatures are extremely cold.
Kevin will begin periodic heat checks beginning this week. When seasons change and/or visitors/renters leave, it is every Owners’ responsibility to make sure the unit is secure. Though staff are here to help, heat checks are only done periodically so you may want to consider installing thermostats that can be operated remotely.
Winter Reminders
- Hoses should have been removed and faucets shut off.
- All planters, flowerpots should have been removed from the stairs and sidewalks prior to November snowfall.
- Be sure to check all windows to ensure they are securely closed.
- Set thermostat for heating with a minimum temperature of 55 degrees when not occupied.
- Moorings should be removed from the lake or properly marked with a smaller winter buoy. We will be removing abandoned moorings in the spring so at that time, please make sure your unit number appears on your buoy.
- Watercraft and trailers must be properly stored for the winter.
- Please call the office with any questions regarding winterization.
- During snow season (November – April), vehicles need to be routinely moved for effective snow removal.

Web page of the month: petoskeylsc.com (password) LSC76Owners
Web page of the month: Lakeside Club Diagram (OWNERS MENU)
Use this page to find out where someone in the Lakeside Club lives. First go to the Owners List under the OWNERS menu and find their unit number, then open the Lakeside Club Diagram at the top of the OWNERS menu and hunt for the number in the boxes representing buildings. That tells you what building they’re in, and the location of a number shows the approximate location of the unit in the building. For example, unit 35 is at the southwest side of building G.
