 Grill removal from upper decks

Thank you to everyone who removed grills from second and third story decks.  We are still waiting for a response from our insurance agent/company regarding the use of electric grills.

If you still need assistance removing a grill, you can submit a work order through the LSC website,  Repair Request Form (on the third photo box) or you can call the LSC office:  231 439-9909.

 Maintenance Update

  • Deck repairs on multiple units have been completed
  • Pool house repair—opened interior wall to repair leaking pipe
  • Wood replacement and painting, where needed
  • Sealing cracks and potholes in roadway in process
  • Stained pool house deck
  • Tree removal by LSC staff. Additional work will be done by contractors.
  • Power washing and staining of entry stairs has begun
  • Power washing and staining of pool/clubhouse deck is close to completion

Reminders

  • Common Elements of the Association may be used by Owners and their guests. This includes lawns, paths, gazebo, beaches, waterfront, mooring areas, etc.
  • General Rules– 3.9 states: “Any gathering or event that effectively monopolizes a Lakeside amenity or otherwise prevents the fair use of that amenity by other Co-Owners is prohibited without the express prior written approval by the Board of Directors.”  Please email Shelly Germain (Board President) with requests before planning get-togethers of more than 6 people.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times. This keeps everyone safe, including our furry friends.
  • If you give permission for family and/or friends to stay in your unit, without your presence, please

provide your guests with copies of the LSC General Rules and Rules for the Amenities.  Both can be found on the LSC website.  It is suggested that you email Kevin to let him know that you have given permission for others to use your unit in your absence.

  • Though renters may use most LSC amenities, they are not permitted to use exercise equipment in the clubhouse.

 Rentals

If you rent out your unit, you know that a $25 rental fee is submitted with each rental agreement.  If you use automatic payment for LSC monthly dues, you can send an email to Gretchen Cleary (bookkeeper), authorizing her to withdraw rental fees.  Include renters’ names and dates to match the agreements.  You can also use Bill Pay through your bank—email renters’ names and dates to match the agreements.

 Pickleball

Two Pickleball courts are available for owners and guests.  Eight paddles and many balls are stored in the brown bench that can also be used for rests between games.  If you are interested in playing, but don’t have a group of four, you can add your name and cell number to a text group.  That way, if you are ready to play, you can send a text to see if any others are available.  If you want to be in a text group, please text Carol Woodhurst 517 581-0899.

 Interactive Maps on website

There are six interactive maps on the Lakeside Club website.  Two maps emphasize our location (“Lakeside Club Location” and “Little Traverse Bay”) and four topic-based maps feature different types of sites, such as restaurants and food and drink-related sites. The topic-based map links are on the AREA INFO menu and the location maps can be found on the LAKESIDE CLUB menu.

When you open a map, you will see many colored markers corresponding to sites of interest. Hovering over a marker with your cursor displays the name of the site, and clicking on the marker brings up a box that includes the name, address, phone number, and other useful information about the site.

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with these maps.  At this year’s annual meeting, we will all decide if the maps should remain on the website because there is a $15 monthly fee to have them posted.

John Lehman shares information from the LSC website and info about Local Events and Activities in August.

Web page of the month:         petoskeylsc.com        (password) LSC76Owners

Web page of the month: Round Lake Preserve (ROUND LAKE Menu)

This small nature preserve (you can walk all the trails in less than an hour) has a viewing platform with a great view of Round Lake, where you may see interesting birds and waterfowl, including some of the loons that nest or fish here. This web page tells you where to access the preserve and provides a downloadable map that you can print and take with you. The trails are open year-round.
